Foolish Pride
Words & Music by Mick Armitage and Jane Thickett

Here is another slow, sentimental ballad; co-written with Jane Thickett in 1974. Jane sang this song beautifully, but only a few 'practice' recordings with her were ever made. I had to make the final recording alone - to its detriment.

Foolish Pride

Love, I'm feeling lonely, just want you only;
Come back to me.
I feel like I'm dying, but I'll keep trying,
To live again.

I'm so lost without you, just think about you,
Each empty day;
'Till you're here beside me, will you deny me,
Your love?

CHORUS:
Oh, all the tears I've cried; is it our foolish pride,
Keeps us apart?
Why did you turn away? I think of yesterday,
You broke my heart.

         ****

Love was what you gave me, but that won't save me;
You were the one.
Tears are all you left me, they will destroy me,
Now that you've gone.

CHORUS:
Oh, all the tears I've cried, is it our foolish pride,
Keeps us apart.
Why did you turn away? I think of yesterday,
You broke my heart.

        ****

Love, I'm feeling lonely, just want you only;
Come back to me.
I'm so lost without you, just think about you,
Each empty day.

I feel like I'm dying, but I'll keep trying,
To live again.
'Till you're here beside me, will you deny me,
Your love?

CHORUS:
Oh, all the tears I've cried, is it our foolish pride,
Keeps us apart?
Why did you turn away? I think of yesterday,
You broke my heart.
