Hi Derek, Keith et al. Just visited the guestbook again and saw Keith's comment about someone posting an inappropriate message to him. I can't believe anyone would question your knowledge of, and your loyalty to CTW, Keith. I'm glad I didn't get to see the message mate, I would have fumed along with you! May I also add my praises to Mick A on the work he has put in on this site for some years now, I hope that whatever problems you have been going through have eased Mick. Are you still at Sheffield Uni by the way? I seem to recall we were going to try and meet for a coffee, but that was back in 2001 I think? I still work in Sheffield so could still arrange to see you sometime mate. To Derek and Keith, I have managed to sort out a print of the Waves cover by Petagno, and have also done one of Escalator (Petagno again). Both look quite stunning, says he modestly . Did you enjoy the other poetry Keith? Hope you weren't to bored by it my friend. I bet you have hardly been able to put your g/daughter down over the last weeks Keith, we are taking our 12 year old g/daughter away with us to Northumberland for a week at the end of May, you have all this to come Keith so be prepared! Take care all, and keep the magic of CTW alive,

peace and light,

Stuart

Mick,

Sorry to hear you have had some problems lately and I sincerely hope everything sorts itself out for you.
The comments Keith and I made about your site are just credit where its due. Its not easy to put a site together like this one, it takes a lot of time and effort to get it right.
It is very informative and has a lot of information for CTW fans old and new to learn from so keep up the good work as it is appreciated.

Best regards
Derek

Keith Finney.:
In Total agreement with you as always Del, thanks for the reply Mick about Moronic comments lately, think i have sussed who it may be, speak to you soon in private, and thanks..

Mick Armitage:
Thanks again, Derek and Keith, for your kind words.

Mick.

Hello Mick, Thanks for your comments to Derek and me in posting (23) but whats happened to the personal comments to me in posting (29), i can't for one minute believe it is you Mick, whoever it is i can prove i know about Cliff and his music, and if they ever wan't to meet me face to face i will prove it to them one way- or another, reveal yourself if you are some kind of hacker, but i doubt you have the bottle, you are a coward and no fan of Cliffrord T Ward, you haven't the intelligence or the gut's!!!

Keith Finney..Regards to all CTW (fans)!

Mick Armitage:
Hi Keith:

Thanks for pointing out to me the sick response to your message (29). Of course, the Guest Book is open for anyone to post comments - including 'responses' to an original comment, as in this case. I can't imagine who posted that remark. Whatever, I've now deleted it.

If you see any other inappropriate remarks here (that I may miss) please don't hesitate to draw my attention to them.

Thanks,

Mick.

Hi keith, yes i know that dave c mentioned cliff's dislike of the cover, but i have alway found it a dramatic piece of art. however, it would appear that getting hold of a print (if they are available) is proving to be difficult in the extreme. i like your choices by the way keith. it is very difficult to select any number from all the great songs this genius penned. hope the family are keeping well mate, take care.

Hi Derek, thanks for the advice re the Waves cover print. I must admit that I have scoured every search engine I could think of without success so I may have to consider the other options. Regarding coming onto MA's site, if memory serves I think I left my first post on here back in 2001, so I feel like the prodigal son returning home. Regarding Top 20 CTW songs, may I put forward my choices below...

Climate of her favour
Stains
Trespass
Miner
A Day to myself
Home thoughts from Abroad
Gaye
Time the Magician
The Traveller
Heaven
Moonlight
Before the World was round
Both of Us
The Best is yet to Come
Up in the World
The cause is Good
My My what a Day
For Debbie and her friends
Laugh it off
Water

These are in no order regarding personal choice, like most of his work, I just love them.

regards,

Stuart

Life has a moral code,be it good or bad, we make decisions which one we choose. Through the music of C.T.W. my choice was easy! Lyrics that help you understand the challenges of others, should and does, influence your life. The music of C.T.W.did this for me! Thank you Clifford T Ward. John Adams.

Hi Stuart,

Just do a Google search re:- Petagno print info etc.
Alternatively, get a photocopy done at a good art shop is the only other way I guess.
Glad to see you have found THE real fans ctw site. !!

Hi all, especially Keith and Derek. It gives me great pleasure to become a contributer to this guestbook, based at it appears to be, on good honest intercourse about CTW's genius A little question that maybe one of you good people can assist me with. Does anyone know if/how a print of the cover painting on the Waves LP can be obtained? It was done by Joe Petagno and has always struck me as being 'different' and dramatic. Keep the music alive friends.

Keith,

I would just like to echo your sentiments if I may. Mick's site is an excellent source of information for serious CTW fans and has to be congratulated. Thanks Mick.
The thought of more gems being unearthed is exciting too.
Dave Johnson, you are truly a magician working hard to bring the fans new material. Your hard working efforts are appreciated by all. Thankyou.
Best regards
Derek

Thanks for your kind words. Actually, some sections of the site are somewhat out-of-date and are in desperate need of updating, but I've had a number of problems in my life in recent months, and haven't been able to tend the site as I should. However, I WILL get round to updating it sometime soon.

Thanks again,

Mick.

Hello DAVE JOHNSON! great to speak to you on a more 'purist'and professional CTW fan website, i have a lot of time and respect for you Dave! you are one of the few people along with Mick/A himself, who are working hard on a tight budget to keep Clifford T Ward's music alive! and you, and Mick, -(for this site), do not get the recognition that you both deserve, keep up the excellent work fella's. A top 15 all time CTW favourite TRACKs suggestions, would be what i would like to see, with bonus tracks of Cliff's NEW SONGS from your ARCHIVING project Dave, to be released when your work is completed, chosen by you and Pat Ward! I have had the privelege to hear one of the new tracks that you have unearthed a few months ago, and i reckon on it's own it could be a massive hit with the fans, but i will not name the song until you do! the compilation would have to be for fanclub release first, as a thank you to all the fans past and present, as for a commercial release, i think it's only a matter of time before one or more of Cliff's songs get's out into the 'media domain' through TV advertising or a new artist recognising Clifford's fantastic musical talent and back catologue,i just hope it's in my lifetime! Keep up 'your fantastic' efforts Dave, hope to meet up with you and talk with you soon.
Best Regards, Keith Finney.

Hello Keith, welcome to Sheffield! Somewhere on this site are quite a few fans' TOP 20 Clifford T. Ward songs which you may find of interest. Would these suggestions be for a commercial release or fanclub release? How would the powers that be (record companies?) select the tracks? Just a note on the ARCHIVING project. ie. searching for NEW SONGS. Thanks to you and a few other CTW appreciators who bought the STUDIO SESSIONS CD a total of £450 has been made available towards funding the project. This means that I'll be able to book a studio to play through and mix another 3 reels. Still a long way to go but we'll get there! Thanks, David.

To CLIFF WEBB, Great to hear from you again mate, and thanks for the congrats! CTW TOP 20 to follow on (This Site) soon! a difficult task, but 'LULLABY' and 'PRAMS' are bound to figure in the twenty somewhere, look forward to (your's) Cliff, and (other) true CTW fans top twenty or ten choices also, it would be a good indicator to 'the powers that be', for a CLIFFORD T WARD compilation CD for the future perhaps, what do other fans think??
Best Regards Keith Finney.

Cliff was my head boy at school at Stourport-on-Severn Secondary Modern. Living just around the corner from me on the Walshes Estate in Stourport he used to sing in the Arley Kings church with yours truly alongside who was a couple of years younger.
School concerts were a joy as he, along with a Mr Marsden (music teacher) would play guitar/banjo and give some wonderful performances even as a schoolboy.
After I left school (at 15) the area was a great place to be musically as a teenager with lots of blossoming local talent.
We were entertained at The Parish Room (Stourport), the Boat Club, Walshes Tenants Hall, Tontine Hotel, Great Witley Village Hall etc by Cliff and the Cruisers, and also Tommy and the Crestas, Jess and the Raiders, Terry Salters in another popular group (whose name now I cannot recollect) et al. Entrance was usually 2s.6d with pass-outs given to go to the nearest pub in the interval if no alcoholic drinks were served.
When Cliff started to make his name in the music industry we used to play his records on the juke box in Coglan's Cafe in Bridge Street, Stourport just hoping that one day he would get into the hit parade.
They were lovely times and I would like to say it was a great to have heard him live in the old days and to have known him. It is a pleasure today also to hear him on my i-Pod whilst travelling around the Kent countryside.
