It's lovely to have "Both of Us" on CD. In my mind this is Cliffords best work. I may be slightly bias on this because I would have met Cliff a few time during the promotion of the LP in Ireland, back in 1983. I also feel the Peter Grogan should be thanked for all the work which he put into getting the LP launched in Ireland. At that time Clifford could do no wrong in Ireland and he was a regular on RTE. I would like to thank Pat Ward and family for allowing this MASTERPIECE to be re issued on CD.

Kind Regards to all Clifford T fans and a special hello to Pat, Polly, Debbie, Sam, & Martin.

Pat Jordan.

Hi Everyone,

Just a quick note that 'Both Of Us' is the album of the week on BBC Radio Hereford And Worcester next week (I think!)

The story so far: It was supposed to be album of the week this week but they got their wires crossed at the radio station. They rang me to apologise and asked me to go into the studio for an interview on Wednesday 11th June at 2pm. So listen in if you can or use the internet if you know how.

Has anyone heard any tracks from BOU being played on the radio? Have you all sent a request to Terry W? If not, why not? Go on do it now!

All the best, It is still to come!

Stephen

What have HMV got aginst Cliff? How come I have been into four HMV shops in Solihull and Birmingham and have not seen a single copy of Both Of US in any of the four branches I have tried. How are people going to know this wonderful album has been issued on cd if nobody is stocking it? Full marks to Cherry Red for carrying the Cliff banner but "nul points" for distribution amd marketing !!

regards, Andy

Following on from Andy's comments. Just wanted to say that HMV in Richmond (Surrey) were really helpful and I now await my ordered copy of "Both of Us". Perhaps we could all agree and pick a day to go into the record megastores and bombard them with requests and orders of this fine album? at best more exposure for Cliff, worst case scenario we send their machines into meltdown and crash their computer systems ;-) that'll teach them not to stock it!

Having been a "fan" of CTW for a number of years I was very excited to find this website dedicated to the man himself. I have to admit though that I am very guilty of posessing a lack of support which this genious so deserves. I once owned a collection of CTW albums on vinyl, included the master piece "Mantlepieces" which I can not find anywhere, but I gave them to a charity organisation some years ago. I long to own a complete set of his work and am currently workng on rebuilding my collection and have so far succeeded in securing 9 albums, (alas not "Mantlepieces"). I was very sad to learn of Cliffords untimely death and have vowed not to loose sight of his extraordinary work ever again!

Clifford T.Ward, the three-yr-old racehorse has had to interrupt his race training after three months because of a crack in the outside of a foot. He is back here in Manchester looking a picture of health, very muscular and powerful after hacking out and some cantering, but it would not be wise to start galloping him even though he does not appear to be lame. His foot has been treated with resin and he has special shoes to support his feet. This is a common problem with young horses and is not serious provided he is given time to grow more hoof. That will take up to six months, so he will not race until he is four and hurdling is a more likely option then. His trainer at Lawnhead says he has made excellent progress and is an excellent prospect. I will let you all know when we can proceed again.

On musical themes, I am still marvelling at the Work in Progress CD and recommend it to anyone who has not bought it yet. And for all you classical jazz freaks I can recommend some great rock'n roll: anything by Joe Satriani, and why not return to Christopher Cross, whose LP Another Page is one to play again and again, his voice should appeal to CTW fans.Interesting to note that the great Art Garfunkel was proud to be in the backing vocals! See ya. Alan Kenworthy

I only discovered on your site today that Clifford T Ward has died. Sincere condolences to any of his family if they read this. I had his first 3 lp's in the early 70's but somehow lost them, life has a way of removing special things. However I came across Homethoughts and Mantlepieces in a secondhand shop recently. It was a bit like meeting up with old friends after many years. Better yet, amongst a pile of classical records in a garage sale today I found Singer Songwriter. A quick check on the web brought up your site. Thanks for your effort. Also it is great to know I have some exciting discoveries to make when I locate any of his later recordings. Without doubt a brillant man.

My ordered BOTH OF US CD finally arrived a few days ago. Yes, the sound quality is good (better than the one dubbed from the LP). But most important of all, the songs are good (brilliant, i would say) and i never get tired of playing them.

Someone reminded me of the guitar solo near the close of the song "When the World was Round" a while ago. So I listen to it more this time and just mravelled at it. Who played such good guitar on this song, i wonder?
So much for now.

Clifford T. Ward was the greatest singers of 70´s. His songs never will die.
A lot of people remember "Gaye" that it was his great hit song. I still remember: We turn on the radio...and it was playing on a Clifford T. Ward´s song. It was a beautiful time and Clifford T. Ward and onother artists gave it for all us. Today everything is different but the true artist never will die, Today I love music, and I can say that my life has been a song, my life is nice...is everything cause: one day at time a guy called Clifford T. Ward made great songs to enjoy ourselves. Clifford T. Ward is in our hearts forever.

Have just bought and listened to the "Both of us" CD, having heard "Still not free" played recently on BBC Hereford & Worcester. I must say this was probably the most moving selection of songs I have ever listened to on one CD. Looking forward to a lot more of the same, being a relative newcomer to this website and to the music of Clifford T Ward.

Finding my record deck... What a wonderful songwriter and sharer of feelings.. Love you Clifford. Nick

Thanks for your message, Nick. So, did Cliff's words bring your girlfriend back? Please keep us informed - we all anxiously await!!!   ;-)       . . . Mick.
