Would like to say that I have thoroughly enjoyed this web site. Must confess that the name Clifford T. Ward was not familiar to me until very recently when a friend of mine in Ireland gave me Liz Williams' name to contact re getting a CD of Colm Wilkinson singing a favourite song of mine, Cliff's "Up In The World". I did not know who had written this song until fairly recently.

Hello Mr Ward or should I say Sir. Always loved your music ever since you asked everyone in Form 3W at North Bromsgrove High School in 1973, to go out and buy "Home Thoughts". I ended up with an autographed copy, which I treasure to this day. Do you remember asking the whole class if anyone had a transistor radio on them?. You wondered how much airtime Radio 1 was giving to your No 8 smash "Gaye". I have purchased many of your albums since, sadly no further autographed copies. Your recent album "Hidden Treasures" was a true masterpiece. Sorry to hear of your illness. Keep on fighting this Monster Sir. Dave.

I'm 14, and my dad bought 'Home thoughts From Abroad'. I've stolen it from him now and it has found permanent residence in my bedroom. He wants it back, but I love it too much to let him have it. Thanks for the marvellous music, Clifford!

Please, is it possible to have the lyrics of the song "Mr Bilbo Baggins" printed on your Web site, because I do not understand them all but I would like to sing this song to myself. Thank you for your reply.

The lyrics to all Cliff's songs are now on the site: go back to the main page, then follow the link: 'The Complete Lyrics of CTW'.   .   .   .   Mick.

I was in my late 20s when I first heard Clifford T Ward's recording of Gaye. I can remembr buying the sheet music and standing with friends round a piano as we tried, helped by some cheap Spanish wine, to sing it like him. Later in my life I heard Home Thoughts from Abroad for the first time and I can still recall the electrifying effect it had on me. I still play Clifford's Mantlepieces tape every day in my car for my daughter who is only eight yet knows the lyrics to every song. She loves the songs of this kind, wise, funny and gentle man better than all the stuff her friends listen to. It was talking to my daughter that gave me the idea of seeing if Clifford had a web site. I was thrilled to discover he has so mnay fans but shocked to hear he has MS, because I had no idea he was ill. In fact I had said to my daughter that I would try to disocover from the internet whether he was still performing. But perhaps I can take her to the next event organised by the Friends of this wonderful man.

I have just been to my first CTW convention,it was a very good day lots of goodies on sale, School of Thought (tribute band) were excellent and James Davey..wow..close your eyes and you would think it was Clifford himself singing, altogether it was a well organised affair with lots of people giving up their time to make it the success it was.. I for one look forward to next years convention, it cant come a moment to soon. Keep fighting it Clifford thanks for making my day and i am sure i am talking for all that were there. x

Yes you can, John: Go back to this site's main page, then follow the link marked 'Available Merchandise (and how to get it)' - all the details are at the top of that page. . . . Mick.

Dear Cliff,

I played Bass at the convention in Kidderminster last Sunday with Ross and Ian. As I didn't get to speak to you then, may I say it was a pleasure to be able to play some of your music. I hope you liked our interpretation? I hope we can incorporate 'Stains' into our live set for future gigs.

I first heard of Clifford T.Ward when I bought the "Charisma Disturbance" compilation album in the seventies. On it featured the artists who were on contract to the Charisma label. Clifford was on there singing "Home thoughts from abroad." From then on I looked out for and listened to his music. His voice, so unique and quite honestly not matched by any artist since! I was at school when "Scullery" came out and played it endlessly whilst doing my homework. I have only been on the net for a very short time and so pleased to see so many like minded people and appreciative of such a great man. I was shocked and saddened when I heard of Clifford's Illness. If you would pass my kind regards to Clifford and his family. My thoughts are with them. God Bless. Keep yer chin up mate!
