Easy, Baby
Words & Music by Clifford T Ward

For all those who believed Cliff was purely a 'ballad song' man, and wouldn't know where to start with a rock-and-roll number - this song stands as testimony to the contrary! I like how; after being challenged to write a rock-and-roll song, he produced this 'mover' with the lyrics declaring how easy it is to 'rock-and-roll', but he doesn't normally because it's never been his style! The short 'chorus' drops a little way back towards his sentimental ballad style - before firing back into the 'rock-and-roll' - brilliant stuff. I wish Cliff had done a few more of these 'rock' songs - he can certainly 'rock-and-roll' as well as the best of them!

Easy, Baby

I don't wanna be a rock and roller
Steppin' out has never been my style
Won't you put your head upon my shoulder?
I'll sing you songs that wanna make you cry
But everybody says the girl's good looking
And if you wanna catch her eye
You gotta move it, let the band start cookin'
Well you can do it if you try!

Easy, baby
It's so easy
You know it's easy to rock 'n' roll
You can dance and
Still romance and
Won't you satisfy my soul?

INSTRUMENTAL

But I don't wanna be a rock and roller
Steppin' out has never been my style
Won't you put your head upon my shoulder?
I'll sing you songs that wanna make you cry
But everybody says the girl's good looking
And if you wanna catch her eye
You gotta move it, let the band start cookin'
Well you can do it if you try!

Easy baby
It's so easy
You know it's easy to rock 'n' roll
You can dance and
Still romance and
Won't you satisfy my soul?

Love me
Baby come back and love me
Won't you come back and love me
Like you did before?

I don't wanna be a rock and roller
Steppin' out has never been my style
Won't you put your head upon my shoulder?
I'll sing you songs that wanna make you cry.

I don't wanna be a rock and roller
Steppin' out has never been my style
Won't you put your head upon my shoulder?
I'll sing you songs that wanna make you cry.

I don't wanna be a rock and roller
I don't wanna be a rock and roller
I don't wanna be a rock and roller
I don't wanna be a rock and roller.
