Prior to 1970, there had been no films, or productions of any kind,
of Anne's novels; however, the growing interest in Anne's work resulted,
that year, in a BBC television production of The Tenant of Wildfell
Hall. A second, three-part, T/V production appeared in 1997, while
that same year saw the first ever production of Agnes Grey, which
emerged as a one-hour radio program (broadcast on BBC radio 4).
The hero and heroine - Helen Huntingdon (Tara Fitzgerald) and Gilbert
Markham (Toby Stephens) - in two scenes from the 1997 BBC production of
The Tenant of Wildfell Hall.
